Custom Puller Cutter for Rubber Extrusion
This machine was built for a customer to handle end-of-line custom cutting of rubber extrusion. Designed, engineered, and built by Gemini, the customer was primarily concerned about safety issues associated with the cutting that this machine now performs. In designing a machine to solve these safety issues, Gemini was also able to increase the quality, productivity, and efficiency of this step in their process.
Stator Tester
This machine conducts hi-pot and resistance tests on stators for automobile transmissions. It does so at a rapid rate – almost 800,000 can be done annually, drastically improving throughput for the customer. Parts that pass are automatically laser marked, while stators that fail are automatically moved to a reject station for quarantine. (Note that there is normally a safety guard on the machine. It was taken off only for the purposes of better visuals in the video.
Automatic Heavy Box Flipper
This custom box flipper first holds a box in place as 175 pounds of extruded rubber is loaded in from overhead (not shown in this video). Next, the machine moves the box down the conveyor belt to be automatically flipped for simpler sealing on both sides. Previously, an employee flipped these 175-pound boxes dozens of times each day, creating a risk of injury or product damage every time. Now, the box is flipped without manual effort, improving both safety and throughput.
